Newspaper Article – It’s time to move on

MIKE’S ON HIS BIKE: Ever since Harry Poppelwell opened his Havelock North shop in 1979, his son Mike has been there. In fact he’s worked in the family business since leaving school at age 17.

Keen for a change in scene Mike sold up last month, yet says the core business will stay the same – as will the esteemed Poppelwell name.

Mike’s pictured (far right) next to wife Betty and new owners Nardine (far left) and Gladys Hunt from Takapau. “I’m off to pick grapes for a while, and play a few more rounds of golf!” Mike says.
