RACE BROUGHT TO A CLOSE

TO-DAY’S Lane Cup matches provided a rough chance of the century race between M. Thomas and L. McCarthy (Technical Old Boys and Hastings H.S.O.B. respectively) being brought to a close.

Although several players in other parts of the country have beaten this pair to the century easily, the local race has attracted a good deal of attention from Rugby followers throughout the province.

When the Lane Cup teams took the field to-day Thomas had 91 points to his credit and McCarthy had 90. McCarthy notched 10 points to-day – and won.
