Newspaper Article – Stewart-Schofield Wedding

On Easter Saturday afternoon at the Hastings Baptist Church by the Rev. N. R. Wood, Doreen May, (Lieutenant 2nd Hastings Company, Girls’ Life Brigade), to Robert Lewis (Lieutenant lst Hastings Company, Boys’ Brigade). The Church was packed with friends and relations and fellow workers of the bride and groom. A Guard of Honour was formed by members of the G.L.B. Company and the BB. Company. As the young couple left the church they were greeted with a fanfare of trumpets from the Band of the Boys’ Brigade. The Bridesmaids were W/O Joy Barley, Cpl, Rosalie North and L/Cpl. Dorothy Peden and the groomsmen were the groom’s brother, one time member of the B.B. and Lieut. Blair Stewart of 3rd Wellington Company. The best man being the only member of the wedding group without Brigade associations.

Doreen is a foundation member of the 2nd Hastings Company and all good wishes go to her and her husband in their new life.
