Newspaper Article – Striking Shot

STRIKING SHOT – Don Reyland of Havelock North on his way to becoming the men’s singles runner-up at the 59th Hawke’s Bay croquet tournament played at the Marewa lawn this week. He finished behind Andrew Johnston of Wanganui but when the two men teamed up for the doubles, they were an unstoppable force and took out the pairs title. Reyland, a formidable bowler, is thoroughly enjoying the tactical side of croquet – a sport he took up three years ago. His love for croquet has blossomed to the point where he has formed the Te Mata Croquet Club on a lawn he put down in a paddock next to his home.
