HINERUA.

[OWN  CORRESPONDENT]  The annual prize-giving in connection with the Hinerua School took place yesterday. The usual picnic had to be abandoned owing to the bad state of the weather. Refreshments were partaken of in the schoolroom. The prizes were distributed by Mr. G. Hunter, M.P., who also took all the children for a spin in his motor car. At the conclusion cheers were given for Mr. Hunter.

BELGIAN CHILDRENS’ RELIEF FUND. AMOUNTS SUBSCRIBED BY SCHOOLS. The following list gives the names of the schools which have so far contributed to the above fund, with the amounts subscribed by each: —Argyll East £9 51- Blackburn £4, Ellingham’s 10/-, Frasertown £35 10/10, Gisborne East £2, Gisborne West £13, Herbertville £23 7/9, Hinerua £3 8/-, Koranga £2 1/8, Maharahara West £1 12/-, Makaretu £12, Makotuku £52 6/5, Mangateretere £23, Maraekakaho £19 8/5. . .
