A telegram received announced that Mr George Moran, the club’s handicapper, had died that day. After some discussion on the motion of Messrs McGreevy and Moroney, Mr Danvers was appointed handicapper on condition that he accept the terms. Several members spoke in admiration of the late Mr Moran, who gave great satisfaction, and without fear or favor. On the motion of Messrs McGreevy and White, £10 was voted to his widow, and the secretary directed to send her a letter of condolence on her bereavement.
