Professor of Chemistry Auckland University.

Educated Hastings High School; Auckland Girls Grammar School; Auckland University – PhD 1963, DSc 1974; University College, London; University of California, Santa Barbara; Imperial College, London; Texas A and M University. FNZIC, FRSNZ, CChem, FRSC, LTCL.
Lecturer in Chemistry Auckland University 1958-, visiting professor Nagasaki University and Texas A and M, currently Professor of Chemistry Auckland University and assistant to vice-chancellor Equal Employment Opportunities and Staff Development.
Past national president NZ Federation of University Women 1979-81, past member National Commission for UNESCO, past council member Diocesan School for Girls, present council member Manukau Polytechnic, Royal Society of NZ.
More than 170 publications in scientific journals.
Justice of the Peace 1982-.
Warded CBE 1989 for service to chemistry, education and the community.
Leisure activities include reading, knitting, swimming, gardening and watching TV.
