O’NEILL, Father Patrick John
Executive Director, New Zealand Catholic Education Office.
Born Fairlie 19 September 1916.
Educated St Patrick’s High School; St Bede’s College; Mount St Mary’s, Greenmeadows; Victoria University College, Wellington 1951-53 – MA 1955; Cambridge University 1960-62 – MA 1967.
Formerly secondary school mathematics teacher.
Publications include a series of six text books for secondary schools The Shape of Mathematics (Wellington: Reed Education, 1969-), Studies in Mathematics (Vectors, 1975).
Member of several committees developing mathematics curriculum, member Integration Standing Committee.
Awarded 1990 Commemorative Medal.
Address 17 Boulcott Street, Wellington.
