At Gisborne Hospital on July 22, 1998, Reg No. 817730 28th Maori Battalion 2 N.Z.E.F.
Son of Karaitiana Tauriri Panapa and Hiraina (nee Winiata).
Loved brother of Ratua Karaitiana Tauriri, Amiria Miriama Tauriri, and Mare Tauriri all deceased.
Cherished uncle of France Rangi Logan (Hastings), much loved uncle and Tipuna of Ratua’s family and especially the Adsett family of Raupunga.
In his 91st year.
Pita will lie in state on Taihoa Marae, Wairoa, from 11am, Thursday, July 22, 1998.
Followed by funeral service at 1pm, thence to the Returned Servicemens Cemetery, Wairoa.
