Parkvale in good shape for anniversary

Parkvale Primary School in Hastings is ready to celebrate its 75th jubilee in February with a remodelled school.

Principal Peter Schirnack said Parkvale was a Tomorrow’s Schools success story with the renovations being done since boards of trustees came into being in 1989.

The Education Ministry has helped by providing maintenance funding and the school has found the rest of its operations and maintenance grants.

The school has restricted its roll to 390 from next year.

Riverslea School is the nearest school with space left to fill.

Parkvale’s new classroom block has replaced all its old buildings.  Its prefabricated buildings have been bought by the Christian School in Tollemache Rd which is renovating them in time for next term.
