Born Makotuku, Hawke’s Bay, 22nd April 1907, daughter of  Niel Kristian Emil Marius Pedersen and Margaret (nee Severinsen)
Educated: Wellington Hospital School of Nursing
Registered Nurse, 1930; Alexandria Hospital, Wellington, Registered Maternity Nurse 1932; St Helen’s Hospital, Wellington; RM 1936; Karitane Hospital, Dunedin, Diploma Plunket Training, 1934; Nurses Postgraduate School, Wellington, Diploma Public Health Nursing 1944. Staff Nurse, Wellington Hospital 1930-32, private hospital 1933-35, 1938-39; Plunket Society 1936; Public Health Nurse, Department of Health, 1940-45l seconded to Fiji Government, 1945-50 (established post of Nursing Superintendent Department of Medical Services; helped draw up Nursing Act); Nursing Advisor, WHO, SE Asia region, New Delhi, 1950-56 (first such appointment); Nurse Inspector (supervisor), Whangarei, 1956-57; Nurse Instructor, Nurses Postgraduate School Wellington 1958-63; Deputy Director of Nursing; Department of Health, Wellington 1963-67 (retired); Life Member, Trained Nurses Association of India; Honorary Member New Zealand Nurses Association.
Recreations: gardening, voluntary work.
