PHILLIPS, Douglas Robert.
On December 11, 1997, suddenly at Hastings.
Much loved companion of Hayley, loved Dad of Jaqueline, Anka and Ranchy, eldest son of Robert and Diddy, stepson to Laurie, precious grandson of Charlotte and the late Robert Phillips (Tawera).
Away in the beautiful somewhere
Our loved one Doug has flown to rest
We know that when God makes this choice
He only takes the best
His happy laughter and smiling eyes
Will be forever in our hearts
We wave goodbye to a long life friend
And cry with his depart
His brotherhood and strength
Stood proud throughout the years
Now Doug flies to his final peace
And takes with him our tears.
Douglas will be lying at his home 23 Birkenhead Crescent, Flaxmere.
He will leave for Korongata Marae on Saturday morning at 10am, where his funeral service will be held at 11am, on Sunday, December 14, 1997, thereafter to the Korongata Urupa.
