Postcard

To my Mother

CARTE POSTALE

France March 20/3/17

Dear Mother, Just dropping a few lines to let you know that I am quite well. Well Mother I received your Christmas parcel  when it was exactly 6 months old & the cake was rotten but the lollys were alright.  I received a good parcel from Mrs Sole with a lovely pocket writing case, two pair of socks & handkerchief & a cake of soap just what is handy over here.

I received a parcel of letters the other day & some [?] , one letter was very funny.  I didn’t look at the address but when I started to read it I thought that it [???] had just put Bobs in mine. When I looked it was Bobs  old as the hills so I didn’t trouble to pass it on.

I say mother if you can’t sell that mare of mine & you can get grazing for her hang on to her.  I think if I get out of this outfit I can sell her well. Theres a chap over here who will take her if he gets home.  Well this is all the news this time.  Hoping you are well as I am with love from your son Bill.
