3/Wesley Flats Picton.

Dear Don, and family,

This is the ‘coathanger bridge’ right in front of my flat, and leading into the Marina.

This marina must hold many thousands of dollars worth of boats, and many boatsheds which rent at $100 per yr. to the Harbour Bd. It must cost money to run a launch these days, but what a lot of fun they get. The man in the end flat has bought a small launch from some Maori people who had made a wonderful contraption of it, but the present owner is an Army man, and he’ll have everything ship shape in time! If you are ever in Wellington with the family, Don, do what John McKinnon did in the holidays, and come over for a day or two. Vin Goff and his wife arrived unexpectantly las [last] Sunday from Nelson where they live. Vin’s a land-agent, and life is not too busy, but seems to keep afloat all right. He has 2 gandchildren [grandchildren] now, and another two on the way, and still 3 children at school in Nelson so life is busy for them too! Trusting all is very well for you all. Love from Hazel Shaw
