Postcard From Ida Dalton

What gala robe could be more neat
The morn of Christmas Day to greet
Than this fair mantle of pure snow
That’s spread around where’er we go

May you have a Bright and happy Xmas

Description

Postcard is from the postcard album of Elsie Massey, a girl living on Whana Whana Station, also known as Dot or Biddie. The station cook, Tom Rouse, bought her the album in January 1911 and her collection of postcards and photos includes the First World War. Ida Dalton is Elsie’s half-cousin.
