EULOGIUM

This is the first programme presented in 53 years in which our great leader is not taking part in person.

For many years, in his unassuming way, he was able to guide and direct the fortunes of the Frivolity Mistrels. His tact and ability were those of a genius and his understanding of youth was so complete as to command their full trust and to make them eager to obey his directions.

During the Jubilee Celebrations of the Frivolity Minstrels he was responsible for writing the history of “The Frivs.” In the whole of that history not once did he mention the part he himself played over the 50 years, praise being given to others, but silence regarding himself.

His spirit is still with us – he is still a part of us. Farewell, Percy Spiller. We who loved you are resolved that your teachings and guidance will remain with the Frivolity Minstrels in the years that lie ahead.
