PERFORMING ARTISTS

Debbie Harwood
Has been involved in the entertainment business since moving from Hawkes Bay to Auckland in 1981. She has since won three NZ Music Awards, has released solo singles, currently has an album of love songs in the shops called Peaches – So This is Love, toured as backing vocals for Jimmy Barnes in Australia, well known for her time in When the Cats Away, has hosted both radio and TV shows. Debbie is currently in two bands in Auckland and has produced a wonderful Christmas Album named Angels which was released in October.

Kim Willoughby
Has sung in various bands over the years including The Gurlz, When the Cats Away, The Scanners. She starred in the movie Queen City Rocker and co fronted Saturday Live. Life slowed down in 1994 when she had twin girls and has only recently got back into the music scene.

John Fletcher
Winner of many contests around New Zealand. A professional musician/vocalist who is well known to Hawkes Bay audiences. He has supported international acts around NZ and has performed in the United States and Australia with outstanding success.

Lynne Toner
Mostly known for her country music achievements where she has performed in the United States and Australia. Lynne is well known these days as a cabaret artist.

Adrienne Toner
Been singing on the stage since the age of 5. She is well known in The Hawkes Bay music scene and is currently in a two piece with husband Pai Fletcher.

Bijou
The group consists of Viva Sahn, Jane Pierard and Lynda Pipe. They held a very successful debut concert in Napiers Century Theatre in July this year. This very talented group sings a wide variety of styles from Capella vocals to blues, jazz and swing.

Kawekas
Well known HB musicians that will perform as the backing band for this years concert. Members are Tony Parker – Scottie [Scotty] Smith – Richard Nicholson.

Moonraker
A story teller that has made regular visits around HB schools and holiday programmes.
He has also featured on Radio Kidnappers.

Phillipa Reade
Metzo [Mezzo] Soprano – Well known local singing teacher who is [has] recently appeared in Opera Highlights.

Wil Sargisson
An extremely talented musician who is an expert at the styles of Chicargo [Chicago] Boogie Woogie and Blues piano players of the 1930s 40s and 50s and the New Orleans Piano players From Jelly Roll Morton to Dr John. Wil has been invited to play at various Jazz festivals, one of the highlights being The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival 1998.

Kevin Watson Trio
Kevin was a main studio guitarist in Wellington during the mid 60s – mid 70s. He has played with NZ Symphony Orchestra and has written and played music for the National Station. Has played with many of the big names in Jazz. Currently in the local band Nighthawks.

Reignier School Choir
34 children aged from 7 – 11 years old. Accompanied by Suzanne Purdy, pianist and Sally Davies well known Napier flautist. Recently recorded their first CD named Reignier Rhapsody.

Wobbles the Clown
Local entertainer for kids big and small
