FOR GENERAL INFORMATION

1.   Pass Conditions:
(1)   School Certificate:   A candidate must obtain not less than 200 marks in the aggregate for English and his next three highest marked subjects. The minimum marks to count in any subject is 30.
(2)   School Certificate:   (where candidates are exempted from the provision requiring instruction in Music or Fine Art):   A candidate must obtain not less than 250 marks in the aggregate for English and his next four highest marked subjects. The minimum marks to count in any subject is 30.
(3)   Certificate of Attainment:   As in (2) above.
(4)   Marks shown are percentages except in Mathematics and Shorthand and Typewriting for which the maximum is 50 in each branch. In Shorthand and Typewriting a minimum of 15 marks in each branch is required.

2.   An appropriate certificate shall be awarded to a candidate who has passed the examination and who has complied with the conditions provided for in the School Certificate Examination Regulations, 1954.

3.   Remarking of Papers. – Work in one subject only will be re-examined. Applications must reach the Director of Education not later than the 14th day of February and must be accompanied by the fee of 10s. State the subject to be remarked and your examination number in your application.
