St Stephen’s Ladies Club Article

St Stephen’s Ladies’ Club

Our Meeting was held in the Lounge on Tuesday 27th March at 2pm with 36 people attending.

Devotions were taken by our President, Flora Martin. In our prayers Flora remembered several of our members who could not be with us at this time.

Our Speaker this month was Miss Elsie Leipst a well-known name many years ago with Plunket Mothers and also with several ex-nursing colleagues.  Elsie soon realised she was among real friends.

Elsie is a very gifted speaker indeed and took us on a trip to England, Denmark and Israel giving us an hilarious insight into her experiences in those countries.  Only one with her sense of humour could have endured such conditions.  The Israel one was most interesting.  Maybe, with some gentle persuasion she will some day come back and speak to us again.

Our April meeting will be “Coffee Morning” time at 10am.  There will be a nice sales table and our Guest Speaker will be our own Anne Fortune who also is a gifted speaker.  Do come along and enjoy a friendly outing.

President – Flora Martin
Secretary – Dawn den Heyer
