FRIH (Fellow of the Royal Institute of Horticulture) (NZ). Six years Post and Telegraph Department; 1924 entered Methodist Home Mission work; served thirteen years Taranaki, Murchison, Cromwell; settled Wairoa 1937, opened business
Tramper, nature lover, member of NZ Alpine Club; prominent interest advocating setting apart Urewera National Park, traversed forest, very many exploratory trips; member NZ Council of Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society, President Wairoa section; awarded Loder Cup 1963; organises many summer camps of Society; President Wairoa Rotary 1966; member Urewera National Park Board and Honorary Ranger 1966; Vice-President Royal Forest and Bird Society and Council member.
