THE PIED PIPER OF HAMELIN

The play we are about to present is based on the poem by Robert Browning. He, is [in] his turn, based his poem on an old German legend.

During the second term we wrote the poem into a play, without changing the structure of the verses and not knowing then that we would be using the work for our break-up.

In the third term we composed suitable music which was later arranged by Mr. Taylor. The compositions used are by Sally Smith, Robyn Drummond, Diane Ward, Barry Neill and John Comrie.

The balloon masks were designed made and decorated by the senior classes. The costumes provided sewing work for Form One and Two girls directed by Mrs Hurford, Mrs Hoy and Mrs D Tolley.

The verses are read by all Std. Three-Form Two pupils and main characters are Diane Ward, Piper; Barry Neill, Mayor; Barbara Ward, Cripple: Patrick Ward, Surviving Rat; Brian Boyd and Richard Hoy, Corporation.
