Former Mayor of Havelock North
Born Hamilton, 14 August 1940, son of William Manfred Whittaker and Estelle Laura (nee Jeffery); married (1) Mary Evans, daughter of Alistair Evans, 1960 (dissolved 1967); (2) Helen Elizabeth Connors, daughter of James Connors, 1968; three sons one daughter.
Educated Hamilton Boys’ High School; MPS.
Managing Director, Whittakers Pharmacy 1964-; Co-Director, Whittakers Green World Garden Centres Ltd, Hastings, Waipukurau.
Member, Havelock North Borough Council 1965-83, Mayor 1974-83;
Life Member, NZ Horse Society;
Member, Hastings Rotary Club.
Sports: Active participation in top level dressage, NZ Horse Society, Senior Dressage Judge.
Recreations: dressage, skiing, sailing, offshore fishing.
