Born Hastings 27 December 1931. Married 1961 Noeleen Gladys Thomson; four children – Hugh Bracken, John Bracken, Peter Bracken, Mark Bracken.
Educated Dannevirke High School; Victoria University College, Wellington – LLB.
Retired, formerly legal practitioner 1960-71, District Court Judge Wellington 1971-72, Tauranga 1972-88, temporary District Court judge 1989-91.
Member Waikato University Council 1975-84, president Hawera Law Society 1968, vice-president Taranaki District Law Society 1969.
Leisure activities include golf.
Address 486 Otumoetai Road, Tauranga.
