Arrived in New Zealand on the “Berar”, 1865 with his wife and first four children

Established a business, “A Jones and Sons”, coachbuilders, blacksmiths, engineers, farriers and ironmongers
Inventor of new agricultural equipment
Lived at “Airlie Mount”, corner of Porangahau Road and Ruataniwha Street, Waipukurau; house built by Cole Brothers Builders and Joiners
