Arrived in Wellington with his family on the “Indian Queen”, 30 January 1857
Worked at “Woburn” for Purvis Russell until 1859, then at “Okawa” for Thomas Lowry
Leased land at Puketapu 1867; lived at Omarunui
Instrumental in establishing Puketapu School in 1864
Buried at Puketapu pa along with brother, Thomas (died 8 March 1889 at Puketapu)
