HASTINGS CITY COUNCIL

WELCOME TO HASTINGS

TO OUR VISITORS –

Once more the Citizens of Hastings join with Greater Hastings to offer our Visitors a sincere welcome to our City.

“Blossom Festival” in the “Fruit Bowl of New Zealand” has become a week of nation-wide appeal; indeed many come from overseas to enjoy this inspiring spectacle of colour and beauty.

Our citizens put in many hours of work to make the City and Floats such a pleasant feature of the “Blossom Festival.” May your stay in our midst be a happy and memorable one for you all.

R. V. GIORGI,
Mayor.

GREATER HASTINGS

TO OUR MANY VISITORS AND FELLOW CITIZENS –

It is indeed a pleasure for me, on behalf of Greater Hastings Inc., to extend a most cordial welcome to our many visitors to Hastings, for our Blossom Festival of 1961. We in Hastings, the Fruit Bowl of New Zealand, are happy that you good people join us in the Annual Festival, to celebrate the heralding of another Spring, with the coming of Blossom, and its many blessings which it personifies, and trust that you will take back with you, pleasant memories of your visit to our fair city.

Should you wish to return to Hastings, next Easter, for our Hastings Highland Games, or spend a happy holiday in our Camping Grounds at Christmas Time, we would welcome your enquiries at our Public Relations Office, where our genial Organiser, and Public Relations Officer, Mr Ken Sparks, and his staff, will be happy to give you all the information you might seek.

To our citizens, I say thank you for your loyal support and co-operation in our efforts to present to our own community and our many visitors, this happy Festival.
