AS A QUEEN’S GUIDE you have prepared yourself for service to God and your fellowmen and have shown yourself a true member of the great Guide Sisterhood. This will help to make your journey through life a joyous adventure. I congratulate you and wish you Godspeed.

First Queen’s Guide

Hawke’s Bay has its first Queen’s Guide, the equivalent to the King’s Scout, in the girl guide movement. She is Miss Elaine Wake, formerly of the Parkvale Girl Guide Company, and now a member of the Hastings Ranger Company. It is understood that there is only one other girl guide, a Dunedin girl, who has been awarded this honour, the highest attainable for all-round efficiency in guiding. The Queen’s Guide award is a comparatively recent one. Recently it was announced that Hastings has secured five King’s Badges for members of the Boys’ Brigade and four King’s Scouts.
