CONDITIONS OF EXHIBITION
Commission – The gallery charges 25% (20% for financial members of six months standing of the Hawke’s Bay Art Gallery & Museum Inc)
Gallery Fee – There is normally no gallery fee, but a fee may be negotiated when more than one third of the works are not for sale.
Freight – Freight to and from the gallery is the responsibility of the exhibitor
Insurance – Insurance of the works in transit to and from the gallery is the responsibility of the exhibitor. Insurance while in the gallery is the responsibility of the gallery. The exhibitor must state the insurance value if the work is not for sale.
Invitations – When deadlines make it possible, exhibition openings are publicised in the gallery’s quarterly programme. A photocopied invitation is provided to the exhibitor for mailing at their expense. If a more expensive format is required, the cost is the exhibitor’s responsibility. Details of the invitation must be discussed with the Exhibitions’ Officer. (The exhibitor should be aware that mailing out invitations alone does not guarantee a good attendance at a preview).
Preview – The gallery will bear the cost of previews but the exhibitor will be responsible for edible refreshments and half the cost of wine, juice and glass hire. Details of the preview should be discussed with the Exhibitions Officer well in advance of the date.
