The Town Clerk,
Hastings City Council,
HASTINGS.

Dear Sir,

Re: Objection to Urban Farm Land List – D.A. Ballantyne

We have for acknowledgment your letter of the 24th and would refer to the writer’s later telephone conversation with you.

Instead of the hearing as you suggested, the objection is to be stood down pending the result of negotiations now talking place whereby the land belonging to the objector now planted in asparagus is to be excluded from the city area and taken over by the County Council. We understand this matter is now under consideration and it will be referred to the Local Bodies Commission and probably be the subject of consent by both local bodies.

If that is so, then Dr. Ballantyne’s objection to the Urban Farm List will be withdrawn and he will confirm in such manner as may then be decided the fact that he and Mrs. Ballantyne propose the property now within the city be eventually placed with the Historic Purposes Trust so that the farming land will ultimately provide an income for such Trust to be set up on the death of the present owners.

Yours faithfully
BANISTER & von DADELSZEN
