Judging will be on a total package basis. This is done to allow every nominee an equal opportunity to move through to the finals.

The judging committee has been careful to mould its criteria so that in every category the rules ensure that results are not gained by simply how the business looks from the outside, but on how customers are treated, does business via its merchandising and, does the business concept accurately portray what business it’s in, plus many other facets of doing business.

The judges decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

Dear Cyril,

Congratulations on being nominated for the 1997 Hastings Best Business Awards. I can appreciate the enormous amount of work that has been put into your business in order to achieve this. While I wish you the best of luck in the final judging, the significance of happy customers wanting to nominate your business for this award should not be overlooked. This will ultimately assist in making your business even more successful.

We at the Herald Tribune would like to help you tell the people of Hawke’s Bay about your business and why your customers have nominated you. To do this we would like to offer you the opportunity to tell our readers about your business during the week 25 to 29 August at substantially reduced rates. Your Account Manager will be in touch shortly to discuss this offer in more detail with you.

Once again congratulations and good luck for the final judging.
