Newspaper Article 1923 – Amelia Anderton Death

Widespread regret will be extended to Mr. Arthur Anderton of “The Pines,” Otane, by the loss he has sustained in the death of his wife, Mrs Amelia Anderton, who passed away at a private hospital in Hastings on Monday at the early age of 34 years. She was a daughter of Mr. W. H. Williams, of Kereru, and was highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends for her amiable and charming disposition. Besides her husband, she leaves four children and a large number of friends to mourn their loss. The funeral took place this afternoon, when a short service was held in the Hastings Methodist Church prior to the remains being laid to rest in the Havelock North Cemetery. The officiating minister was the Rev. A. McBean.
