Newspaper Article 1933 – Hawke’s Bay Wedding

HAWKE’S BAY WEDDING.

A WEDDING which united two old families in Hawke’s Bay was celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church, Hastings, last Thursday when Jocelyn [Joceline], youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Nelson, of Whakamaramara [Whakamarumaru], was married to Wilfred Douglas, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Gilbertson, of Havelock North. The bride, who was escorted by her eldest brother, Mr. Leslie Nelson, was gowned in Ivory satin, inset with lace and worn with a charming little satin coatee. Her only ornament was a necklace of crystals, and she carried a sheath of arum lilies. The bridesmaid, Miss Betty Menzies, wore a charming frock of pale pink net with floral appliques and a small cap of pale pink velvet. Her bouquet was of daphne and violets. Mr. Roy Gilbertson acted as best man. The reception was held at “Paretai,” the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Nelson.
