Service award for noted netball coach
Mrs Rona McCarthy, coach of the Convent Old Girls netball team in Hastings, for the last 30 years and a long-standing member of the Hawke’s Bay Netball Association, will be presented with a service award by the National President, Mrs J. McCann, of Wellington on Saturday.
The presentation will be made at the official opening of the New Hastings netball pavilion at Windsor Park.
The new pavilion, to be opened by the patroness of the association, Mrs R. V. Giorgi, cost $14,000. The Hastings association contributed $4000 to the cost.
