Friends mark Mrs Lean’s 90th
The oldest member of the Twyford Country Women’s Institute, Mrs H. Lean, celebrated her 90th birthday at a special function at the Twyford Hall.
Mrs Lean, a foundation member of the institute which has been going 55 years, featured at a luncheon in the hall.
About 50 women from the institute, the Raupare CWI and other visitors, joined in the luncheon which was followed by the institute’s monthly meeting.
Mrs Lean was presented with a bouquet of flowers by the Twyford institute and a box of “goodies” by the Raupare institute.
A cake, made by Mrs E. Gibbs, was cut by Mrs Lean.
