Queen’s Guides gather

Many of Hawke’s Bay’s Queen’s Guides attended a reunion at Omatua at Rissington earlier this month for Guides Hawke’s Bay’s 75th birthday celebrations. Pictured above is the region’s first Queen’s Guides recipient and two of the latest recipients, Havelock North’s Emma-Rose Lummus, 17, left; Elaine Congdon, Hastings, centre; and Katie Goodridge, 17, Taradale. Mrs Congdon, nee Wake, attended Parkvale Guides and was the first guide in the North Island to receive the award in 1952 [1950].
