Newspaper Article – Constance Horne Biography

Mrs. Horne is the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Nelson, of “Laureston,” Woodville, and has lived all her life in that centre. As the wife of Mr. Henry Horne, for many years Mayor of Woodville, she has had considerable insight into the duties and has given her enthusiastic help to every good cause. She is a foundation member of the Plunket Committee and has been its president for the past 10 years. She was convener of the meeting called to form a sub-branch of the Crippled Children Society, and was for some years chairman. She is serving on the Red Cross, Health Camp, Women’s Relief, Patriotic and E.P.S. Committees, was for eight years secretary and two years president of Holy Trinity Church Ladies’ Guild, is a foundation member and secretary for a term of the Women’s Institute, is at present chairman of the W.W.S.A. and has served in various other capacities for the welfare of Woodville.
