Newspaper Article – Ladies’ Guild Flower Show

WOODVILLE.

From Our Own Correspondent.

The Ladies’ Guild of Holy Trinity Church held a flower show and sale of work on Tuesday and Wednesday last in the Drill Hall. It was very successful, and the show of flowers was more than could have been anticipated at this time of the year. But the feature of the function was the “zoo,” organised by Mrs W.H. Nelson, which attracted crowds and which gave great amusement. There were representation of various animals, but the palm was generally given to the English retriever dog. The total takings for the two evenings came to about £90, which was very good considering that there had been comparatively little preparation.
