Newspaper Article – Wellington Trials

She crashed heavily and then won. Because Saturday’s track-and-field events in Wellington were trials and not championships, Miss R. Tong (Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay) was allowed another start after falling heavily in one heat of the women’s 90yds hurdles, in which she won the final. Here are the finalists clearing the first hurdle. From left: Misses E. Munro (Auckland) partly obscured, M. Nelligan (Auckland), Tong and A. Walker (Wellington).
