Proclamation 1936

Accession of His Majesty King Edward VIII.

The Accession of His Majesty King Edward VIII will be proclaimed at Parliament Buildings today, Thursday, January 23rd, 1936, at 11 a.m.

At the conclusion of the reading of the Proclamation the National Anthem is to be sung.

In accordance with the wishes of the Hon. M. J. Savage, Prime Minister, the public are requested to observe a holiday between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon today, in honour of the Accession.

The above programme will be carried out at the Post Office steps, Woodville at 11 a.m. to-day, and the public are invited to attend, particularly the children.
