THE TOMOANA PLAYERS take pride in presenting “Dry Rot” as their Nineteenth Annual Production.

Our choice of play has always been founded on box office appeal, and a play which has earned a high reputation in the English theatre. We are most careful to choose a play which is suitable for every member of the family to see, and we hope it is understood that children will always be most welcome in our audience.

With this in mind the “Tomoana Players” never perform an obscure or immoral play. It is felt that certain modern plays have no place in our choice, because over the years – should we have any desire to depart from our policy in this matter – the generous support of the public of Hawke’s Bay has proved to us that plays with a degraded theme do not attract their patronage.

With the generous support of the people we have been able to hand to various Hawke’s Bay organisations approximately £10,000, and we are grateful to our patrons for their very generous support over the years.

Next year we will have been in existence twenty years, and we hope to bring to you a production fitting the occasion.

We sincerely hope you will derive good entertainment from tonight’s show, and we wish you a very enjoyable evening.
