WELCOME TO THE FRIVS

FOREWORD BY THE PRESIDENT

Welcome once again to a night out with the “Frivs”. I hope you get as much pleasure from watching our production as we, the cast, get in presenting it to you.

Belonging to the Frivs is just not belonging to another organisation. We have 83 years of non-stop tradition behind us, which we still try to incorporate in our present day productions: Many traditions over the years have been ‘swept under the carpet”, but not so with the Frivs, a record we are justly proud of. The Frivs are listed in the “Dunmore” Book of Records as the longest established continuous theatrical organisation in New Zealand.

In conclusion may I take this opportunity to congratulate all members of the Frivs for indeed another fine production, and to our audience, thank you for your continued support.

John Ferguson

This important role with the Frivs is played by Fay Rogers. A most capable and energetic person ideally suited to the demands of an exacting job.

Fay has been with the Frivs for 22 years in many varied capacities such as wardrobe mistress, make-up supervisor, prompt, on stage and secretary.

The Frivs would like to thank Fay for all the long hours of work she (Secretory) has given to the Society.

Fay Rogers

The Production Team

Our Producer, Marie Hall has once again brought together a colourful, and fast-moving production. Co-ordinating a large cast of chorus, principals, orchestra, backstage personnel, is a mammoth task, and I‘m sure you will agree, expertly executed. Marie has been with the Frivs now for four years, this being her second as producer for the entire show.

Tonight’s performance is the just reward for the many hours of hard work Marie has giver to the Frivs.

To the whole production team, the Frivs say a big ‘thank you”.

PRODUCER
Marie Hall

MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Edith Ferguson, R.M.T.

Edith Ferguson is responsible for the high standard of choral work and orchestra co-ordination. Many hours were spent choosing and arranging the music for tonight’s performance. A registered music teacher of piano and theory this is her sixth year with the Frivs.

PIANIST
Joy Coulam

Joy Coulam, as pianist, has a very important role with the Frivs. All members are very appreciative of the hours Joy spends at rehearsals and the Frivs are indeed fortunate to have Joy as official pianist. Joy has held this position since joining the Society in 1973,.

CHOREOGRAPHER
Dawn Mayo

Dawn Mayo, choreographer with the Frivs for two years has added much to the production with her bright arrangements of dancing and movement. A former dancer with the Frivs we are indeed pleased to have Dawn in this important capacity.

WARDROBE MISTRESS
Evelyn Foster

Evelyn Foster, for the 2nd year running has enhanced this performance with her bright and colourful costuming, & should be a very important part of any production. The Frivs are also pleased to welcome Evelyn on stage this year as well.

STAGE MANAGER
Colin Goble

Colin Goble expertly controls a large backstage team, as well as overseeing the large task of designing and building the scenery. Colin is responsible for setting up the show once on tour and for 10 years has been a very valued member of the Society. Thanks to Colin and his team for another fine effort.
