ANNIE GET YOUR GUN

Music and Lyrics by Irving Berlin
Libretto by Herbert and Dorothy Fields

The Story
Annie Oakley is a girl from the backwoods who becomes, through her skill with a gun, the star of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. By superior sharpshooting she ousts Frank Butler who leaves the show to join the rival outfit of Pawnee Bill. Annie then discovers that she is in love with Frank. Unfortunately, he prefers his women to be of the soft and gentle old-fashioned variety. Their romance is doubly complicated by the fact that they are business rivals. Eventually, their problems are solved when the two outfits merge and Frank comes to realise that Annie is, after all, the right girl for him
