NZ SINGING SCHOOL TE WANANGA TOI WAIATA

The New Zealand Singing School Trust was formed by a group of Hawke’s Bay singers (also founders of Hawke’s Bay Song and Opera Workshop) who recognised the need to further develop their talents and interest in singing. The School soon attracted singers and teachers from all over the country and beyond. It is now held every two years with a successful and engaging format involving masterclasses, lectures, technical sessions, massed singing, language coaching and small ensemble singing; with participation of students in a range of informal and formal concerts. This School is the only residential school of this type in the Southern Hemisphere. It enables students to study intensively with renowned tutors and accompanists, and to use the performance opportunities to refine their art at a professional level.

We are exceptionally grateful to the Eastern Institute of Technology as our longest serving sponsor of the New Zealand Singing School. The names of all sponsors and Supporters can be found in this programme.

Mark Oldershaw (Treasurer)   Conal Coad (Advisory Trustee)
