Letter From Enid Nelson 1936

My dear Aunt Mollie

I am sorry I have been so long in writing to thank you for your very nice letter of good wishes and congratulations, but the fact is we have been pondering over the name question ever since he arrived. I have

put off writing until it was settled.

He is to be Michael Montague Falkiner after much discussion – Anne is thrilled as she named him Michael when she saw the baby first & has always called him by it – Eric liked Anthony. I liked David but neither of us liked the other’s choice so it is to be Michael as we both like it & have got

used to Anne always using it. We were quite unaware until we settled that one of Mr. Jack Nelson’s sons is Michael too. I think this is a pity but Eric says they will only be step-cousins – once removed and will not be confused.

His birthday was Aug 24th Anne is fascinated with him & it will do her a lot of good not to be the only pebble on the beach. Michael is growing like a

mushroom – almost smiling now & weighs over 11lbs.

Eric sends his love & thanks for your birthday greetings to him.

Jean Archer is over to the family’s delight & looks so pretty & well.

We were very interested in the news of Constance & Patricia. What a wonderful trip Constance sounds to be having.

Eric sends his best love with mine & thank you again for your thoughts of us all.

Yours affectionately
Enid.
