Maraekakaho farmer dies aged 77

Mr Charles Edward Nelson-Smith, JP, Olrig Station, Maraekakaho, died yesterday.
He was 77.

Mr Nelson-Smith was born in Hastings in 1898. He studied engineering at Canterbury University and then returned to the station where he lived for the rest of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Adele, and two daughters by a previous marriage, Janet and Patsy Patterson [ Paterson ].
