The Napier Frivolity Minstrels President

John Ferguson has been on stage fourteen years with the Frivs. Four of these he was Secretary/Treasurer, with the past five years as President.
Next year the Frivs celebrate their 85th Anniversary, John is also Chairman of the Anniversary Committee. Frivs from far and near are expected to attend this milestone in the Frivs history.

For many years audiences will remember John as a magician, well known throughout Hawke’s Bay.

John welcomes you to tonight’s performance and trusts you will enjoy the 1980 production.

Special thanks to the Frivs Committee, and indeed all members, for the continued help and support during the year.

Fay Rogers takes on this most important role with ease. Fay has been a member of the Frivs for 23 years, and has worked in most capacities within the Frivs structure.

Now on stage as well as prompt for the Pantomime, Fay is a really busy person.

Also Secretary for the 85th Anniversary celebrations next year, the Frivs thank Fay for her efforts.

PRODUCER – MINSTREL SHOW
JOY BOSTON
With pleasure, the Frivs introduce Joy Boston, who is new in this important role. Joy’s imaginative choreography and production techniques show through in tonight’s performance. Joy also trained the “Frivs” dancers, and arranged the choreography for Rumplestiltzkin. The Frivs hope Joy will be with them in this capacity in the future.

MUSICAL DIRECTOR
EDITH FERGUSON
Edith is no stranger to the Frivs, having been musical director for seven years. Also well known in Napier for her choral and music teaching abilities, the Frivs are proud to have Edith associated with them again. Many of the ideas incorporated with the chorus work are to her credit. The Frivs also hope Edith will be with them for years to come.

PRODUCER – PANTOMIME
MARGARET ATKINS
Although this is Margaret’s first year at producing, I’m sure you will agree the Pantomime tonight is of a very high standard. Margaret is a long-standing member of the Frivs, having been on stage for 17 years. Margaret will be remembered for her outstanding acting in the role of the “witch” last year. Margaret would like to thank Syd Henney for his valued assistance.
