Biography
Arrived in New Zealand 1849; in 1853 he took up a large run, Milbourne, on the Ruataniwha Plains.
One of the seven people known as the “Twelve Apostles” – the seven people had twelve shares of Heretaunga Plains land between them – Thomas Tanner 3, JN Williams 2, Captain AH Russell 2, Captain JG Gordon 2, JD Ormond 1, Purvis Russell 1, JB Braithwaite 1
