Silver Wedding At Home.

Mr. and Mrs. William Nelson, of Waikoko, Tomoana, gave a very enjoyable At Home to celebrate their silver wedding recently. The day was fine and the Waikoko Lake with its many reflections looked exquisite. The garden, which is one of the finest in Hawke’s Bay, was looking at its best. Afternoon tea was served in the dining-room, the table beautifully arranged with pure white flowers and maidenhair fern in silver vases. Chief amongst the many dainties was a huge wedding cake ornamented with silver. Mrs. Nelson looked extremely well in a beautiful gown of silver charmense trimmed with rich Oriental embroidery; Mrs. Townsend, rich black silk trimmed with exquisite lace; Miss Nelson, white embroidered muslin daintily trimmed with real lace; Mrs. Lionel Nelson, rose du Barri chiffon taffetas; Mrs. Harry Nelson, green ninon de soie; Mrs. O. Nelson, in brown; Mrs. Arthur Williams, white silk; Mrs Lane, blue and white striped gown; Mrs. Harold Russell, navy gown; Mrs. Hector Smith, navy and green; Mrs. Guy Russell, mauve; Miss Elsie Williams, grey; Mrs. Harry Warren, green linen, becoming hat. Amongst others present were Mesdames Allen, Gardiner, King, Punkney, Fenwick, Misses M. and K. Williams (Hukarere), the Bishop and Miss Williams (Napier), Miss Maclean, Miss Hardy, Miss Spillman (Wellington), the  [rest of article missing]
